The Prisoner

The Prisoner
Someone is always watching... in The Village.

Have you ever wanted to escape to a world where the air is fresh, the grass is green, the weather is perfect, everyone is happy and, best of all, everything is orderly and peaceful? Now you can. Welcome to The Village, where a perfect life awaits you. For this, you merely have to give up your name, your privacy, and your ability to control your own life. Someone is always watching… in The Village.

The Prisoner is a stylish modern reworking of the cult classic 1960's TV series of the same name. Michael (Jim Caviezel) resigns from his job, and inexplicably wakes up to find himself trapped in a surreal place, The Village, with no memory of how he arrived.

As he frantically explores this new environment where the weather is always perfect and everyone seemingly always happy and living perfect lives, he discovers that Village residents are identified by number, have no memory of any prior existence, and are under constant surveillance. Called by the name "Six", Michael is driven by the desperate need and desire to know what The Village is, why he is there, and who controls it. Is he being brainwashed or debriefed? Most importantly, "Six" needs to find a way to escape, and return to his previous life.

The Village is controlled by one man - the sinister and charismatic "Two" (Ian McKellen). "Six" and "Two" become locked in a battle of wits, as "Six" challenges the oppresive nature of The Village and struggles to learn the truth behind it. In doing so, he must also confront some dark truths about himself. Will he be able to escape this seemingly perfect paradise to the real world where he came from?
